Hi, I just bought Liza in Feb. I'm a new sailor and am looking for any information I can get about the boat. I am hearing that they have a good reputation for being seaworthy.

Thanks
Sheila

Dear Sheila, welcome to the group and congratulations on becoming a Vega
owner. Where are you, and where is your boat? We bought Beowulf (V2977)
about four years ago in the UK, and last year sailed her to the
Mediterranean. We are not very experienced, and last year we were
considerably less experienced. The Vega sails MUCH better than we do. You
have a very seaworthy boat. If you don't yet have one, I would advise
getting a wind vane. Ours is a Monitor, which is strong and utterly
reliable, but heavy and expensive. I hear that the Navik is good for the
Vega. The great advantage is you can sail hands free so to speak, without
using battery. We use it for even short passages like an hour or so, it is
so easy to operate. For single handed sailing it is almost essential. Best
wishes. Tom

Just my opinion, of course, but; yes. I would say the Vega is a
seaworthy design. A survey would be advisable for any individual boat.

Welcome to the group.

Thank you all for the welcome. I have arranged to get the survey done and I know I won't get my money back that I spend on her but I will get my money's worth. Looking forward to any feedback or advice. Thanks

Regards
Sheila

Hi Sheila,
I am a new sailor as well...I have never sailed...LOL. But what the heck...you only live once. So I bought a boat two weeks ago and off we go...making a few retro fits and then to the water. God help us...LOL.
Larry
