Hello all,
First time posting and enjoyed all the information gained from others adventures. My wife and I are planning our first overnight trip and are planning on Sailing out of Edenton, NC and sailing around the back of Albemarle Sound. We have not previously sailed on Albemarle and mainly just sailed on the lake. We will be taking out a Rhodes 22 from General Boats.
So was hoping some knowledgeable people that have sailed this part of the sound could chime in.... In looking at Active Captain and other sources there does not appear to much information on anchorages so can someone direct me to some good anchorages that would protect us for the night. I know Edenton has a nice town dock and we plan on stopping in but kind of want to spend the night on the hook.
Also.. when ever I read about Albemarle people always write that it can be really rough if the wind kicks up. Given where we will be sailing and that we are somewhat newbies.. can you recommend what kind of weather would be 'to rough' .. i was thinking at long as wind stayed below 15knts we should be ok..
Thanx for any help..
Patrick
