I have a SI-TEX AIS antenna splitter and a class B AIS transceiver. Last week I replaced the VHF antenna on the top of the mast. The vhf receiver works fine but neither of the AIS boxes has power. Both are wired to a DC breaker and the breaker works. Any ideas?

Does the VHF radio work with the new antenna?

Your AIS transceiver uses nearly the same broadcast frequency range as the VHF radio. It is why a splitter is possible to be used. Your AIS will not transmit if in the process of replacing the antenna you disconnected the AIS from the antenna.

Then again if you turned no the AIS with no antenna connectted you may have burned up the transmitter or popped a fuse if the designer installed one to protect the use of the AIS without an antenna.

Inspect all the connections. It is likely that one is loose or got broken while you were working on the antenna.

There are 2 types of antennas. If you remove the coax that is connected to your antenna on the mast and make a continuity test, you should not see any continuity. If you see continuity, then you installed the wrong type of VHF antenna. Perform this test on the antenna that you removed. Connect the original antenna to your AIS and see if AIS works without the splitters.
