Easy, Dan, 175, but

I figured out where the fly went - it got squashed on my head, so now it may or may not weigh less than it did than before. We all get together, buy Tony a bong and explain how to him how to find his fly... Thanks for the grins & giggles. I agree, Tony, this is a real hoot.

Hell's Gate

I believe anyone who has mis-timed their navigation through Hell's Gate in New York (current about 7 knots, give or take) can tell you with utmost certainty that a boat with a max speed of 7 knots will pretty much dig a hole in one spot until the current subsides!

I went through Hell Gate on a tour boat

against the tide and watching the water around the bridge piers was awesome. 3+ knot currents in the C&D canal is enough for me. Better than bucking the current is going with the flow. We managed 8 knots coming down the Chester River on the ebb. Didn't realize how strong the wind was until we rounded a bend. We had beeen running under the jib only and when we rounded the bend the wind was smack on the nose and Bietzpadlin won't go to the weather under jib only.
