I had a 16,500 btu Mermaid unit installed on my 1994 C-36 last year. We placed it under the nav station and vented the aft cabin, main cabin and forward cabin all along the starboard side. The unit is pretty effecient in that location. The key to efficiency is limiting the number of angles and elbows the duct work has to make. I'm very satisfied. I hated loosing the nav station seat but it didn't really get used too often anyhow. Good luck.
