I am getting ready to install 16000 BTU in a 1991 two cabin Starboard galley design. Any advise or suggestions like locations that has worked for your boat.

For a boat this size I suggest you install two separate units...maybe one 7K and one 12K btus. You can still share the same water pump if you want.

I have two (as Lee suggests) but if I were to do it over I would simply install one large 16,000 BTU unit in the forward location - under the saloon seat against the bulkhead adjacent to the compression post.

My aft unit is behind the aft bulkhead jammed into a small compartment that is near impossible to access for maintenance, so I rarely use it. My forward AC unit does a good job of cooling the entire boat, and I have a dark hull.

My experience is the opposite. I had one 16000 unit on my 381. It was challenging to balance the temp throughout the boat - cold forward and warm in the aft cabin

My 423 has 2. One covers the main and forward cabins. The other covers the galley and aft cabin. This solution works better.

I have a 393 with the same setup as the 423. Forward unit is 12000 BTU and the aft unit is 9000 BTU.
