Has anyone installed an A/C on there boats? What type and was it difficult? I spoke with the factory and they recommend the 12000 BTU unit my Marine Air. Any ideas?
Yes I have installed one. And yes I would consider it difficult. Not overly technical, just time-consuming. Your question is timely because the manufacturer(Mermaid) left me a voice-mail over Christmas. Said my name was in his technical database and he hoped I had gotten a satisfactory answer to my question(s). I was impressed by the follow-up. I had asked them about restricting air-flow where I did not have room for the large ductwork. If you are interested in details I might be able to assist. Installed a 16000 BTU CruiseAir with reverse cycle heat on my 1990 35.5 Legend. It was professionally installed and was difficult due to the restricted space on the Legend.
