Mine died...I've not had a lot of experience with marine AC. Which water pump do you like and which will last more than one or two seasons. Your opinoins are appreciated. Thanks

March pumps

My experience is limited to one pump, that being the one which came with my MarineAir system and it literally blew apart one day for no apparent reason after only a couple of seasons. Based upon recommendations from those who do know more than me, I replaced it with an equivalent rated March pump. So far, so good...

ac pump replacement

I replaced mine with a little red pump called a "proven pumps" submersable pump. It was model B-500 and was $88.50 last year at the marine supply store. It is an exact replacement of what was on mine. It says TEEL pump on it model 1p808A..I could not buy from the MFR, had to go through a store. Terry

Hi Patrick, I'm not sure what you mean by died,...

but our original 1991 Little Giant still works great suppling raw water to both reverse cycle heat pumps. I've had to take it apart and clean the impellers from time to time, but otherwise no problems. Salt tends to accumulate around the impellers and over time will slow the pump until it stalls. If your pump has similar symptoms you might want to clean it first before replacing it. Our Little Giant motor is a sealed unit with the impeller floating on nylon bushings in the impeller housing. The first time I removed the impeller for cleaning I missed the rear bushing. It ran for a bit then stopped again. This time I removed the entire unit for cleaning and found the missing rear bushing. After I put it back together correctly this time it ran great. I too thought the pump had died, but just a simple cleaning brought it back to life. Terry

March pumps

Are the cadillac of A/C pumps. I highly recommend the LC (liquid cooled) model. Both my A/C units use LC-3CP-MD and they are pretty bullet proof. Find out how many GPH your A/C unit requires and match up the correct model. Good deals can be found on Ebay.
