I have an oday 25 with an outboard motor, which allows a huge area under the cockpit. I used my boat alot last year, but it was abnormally hot, which cut back on my sailing towards mid to late summer. The PO had a door made for the companionway which allowed a 5000 btu window shaker, but I thought I would install a new one in the boat on the port side, above the coffin berth, the unit could be mounted in the space just forward of the gas tank hold in the cockpit and aft of the icebox. I could leave the lazerette ajar to exhaust the condenser heat, and the condensate can drain on the floor into the bilge. This way, I do not have to climb over it to get in or out of the cabin, and it will not have to be lifted in and out to sail. Need feedback before I cut a hole.. Thanks
