Someone wrote in last week or two on cleaning the Mermaid condensator, I have taken it apart, cleaned the inner plastic parts, the main body seems clear, however I still have a flow that seems restricted, water flow is much greater without the condensator in the line, is this normal, or is there something I am missing? The pump is also new. Thanks!

Restriction

The flow will be less with the condensator in the circuit. In fact, that is how it works. The condensator constricts the passage of water flowing in the cooling water line causing the velocity of the water to increase in the constriction. The increased velocity causes a low pressure area which is tapped inside the condensator. On my installation, this does not appear to be a problem in that the air and heat seem more than adequate, and the temperature of the water exiting the system is not much different from the intake. I never checked the flow without the condensator in the circuit, so have no clue how much it is constricted.
