Aftermarket Chinese Impellers

Recently purchased two water pump impellers for my Yanmar 2QM15. Jabsco impellers were $60+ while several aftermarket Chinese offerings were only $23 on Amazon. The two $23 impellers I purchased from two separate Amazon sellers have impellers that look perfect. The gaskets that came with one looks correct but on the other the gasket clearly will not fit. Anyone tried these $23 versions? Running out of funds and shopping around lately.

Outside of the country, parts are either very difficult to find or you take what you can get. What might be $60 in the US can be double that out there. So I've bought what I could find at the cheapest price. So far, so good, but to be honest, I never checked whether any were Chinese made. I would assume the Jabsco ones are, these days.
As for the gaskets, each impeller, even though they are the same, can fit a multitude of pumps. You probably got the right impeller but for another pump. I'm pretty sure any pump supplier/rebuilder has lots of left over gaskets, with one to suit your needs.

FWIW, some time ago, I purchased a Yanmar impeller. When I opened the package, I saw that it was a Johnson Pump brand. Subsequently, I have purchased Johnson impellers.

When it was time to change impellers on my Yanmar, I went with a Globe Run Dry Impeller. 700 hours later it is still doing its job.

On my 3JH2E changing the impeller is a challenge unless I remove the starter. The Globe impellers have a good reputation for longevity and can run dry longer than OEM impellers without damage.

The Globe impellers also have a reputation for having the hubs detach and spin independently of the vanes.

I'm aware of that. There was a period where quality control slipped. To the best of my knowledge that has not been the case for a few years.

In any case, we should monitor the diesel exhaust to make certain the water if flowing.

Thank you for your replies. I think I will give the cheap after market impellers a try. I have spare gaskets. I change my impellers every two years which is about 200 hours. We will see.
