Anybody install bow chocks on a boat with the toe rail that runs right up to the tip of the bow? My boat is moored and the chaffing that occurs as the line rubs against the toe rail makes me nervous. I currently use 2 mooring lines with a length of high temp marine water hose as an anti-chafe buffer, but I am thinking I should have bow chocks installed. This would mean cutting away a span of toe rail I think. Has anybody done this or had this done? Mike

What boat?

Mike: I do not know which boat you have. I have seen this done on the H'31 & H'34 on the aft toe rail. It run almost to the stern. The ones I saw looked like where done professionally. You would have thought it was a factory job. The only problem I see is the fact that the toe rails are usually anodized. If you can cut it off and make it smooth, how would you re-anodize the rail?

Toe rail goes right up the the end of the bow. If I did this, I would be inclined to pay a pro who has done it before.
