Has anyone ever heard of Danladi Harrison at autobase@www.com? I had my Hunter 212 up for sale and received an email with an offer from him/them and would like to know if anyone has every heard or has information about them, i.e. is it a reputable outfit. Thanks Steve Graham KTMUATKD

Big Shipping Costs

I guess I'd want to know a lot more, but its hard to see how the shipping and duty would be justified. South Africa has (used to have) quite a few builders. That wouldn't apply elsewhere, of course. Anyhow, good luck. Just be careful and FWIW an escrow of funds would be a good idea for both parties if you decide to go through with it. Rick D.

Internet SCAM...

It’s probably an Internet scam to get your bank account number. On another sailing website they have reported people in African countries answering sailboat ads for boats in the US. "It is amazing how pervasive fraud has become over the Internet! I have been in financial services for many years and am aware of many fraud schemes. I was just contacted by a "gentleman" from LAGOS, NIGERIA who claimed to be very interested in purchasing my boat. Be very cautious if any one from this part of the world contacts you. They may seem very sincere and want to know the best way to pay you...they will probably ask to wire transfer the funds into your account to close the deal. NEVER give out your bank information....they are looking for ways to take your hard earned dollars. My recommendation is to block the sender from your email and don't look back." Fair winds, Clyde

african scams

there's a lot of people over there who seem to prey on your goodwill to take your money! we're constantly getting emails and faxes from nice people in nigeria who have some leftover government money in a contract and will share it with us is we give them a bank account to send it to! beware! if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...

Hi Tech version of an old scam

Its a scam. The same scam they used to do with a credit card. No guarantee that they sale the boat, only that they list it with some bs listing in some bs country. They don't really list you boat, they just take your money. Don't waste your time with them, just list it on HOW. If some one in Cuba, Africa, or Japan wants your boat the can find it here
