A relative has moved to the city. I have given my old O'Day 23 to them. They are looking for an affordable Marina within 1 or 2 hours of the city to put the O'Day in for the summers. Any suggestions?

If they want to drive that long,

Willis Marine in Huntington. Nice folks, great village, good sailing in the bay, easy access to the Sound and any where you want to go. About a thousand bucks a season for a mooring and launch service. The railroad is also close by for travel to and from the city.

Where do they want to sail?

Different enviornments on the North and South Shores of Long Island and Western and Eastern areas. The North Shore has less wind, more depth (but rocks) and is more developed. The South Shore is shallow (but sand is forgiving), lots of wind, The Fire Island National Sea Shore and lots of little undeveloped Islands West of there. alan
