I need advice from "the experts" on what to get to make DRS handling more manageable.I sail a 1981 C-22, and recently bought a used DRS [Asymmetrical] that will fit a boat 22'- 25'. The luff is 25' and the forestay length on the C-22 is 25.8'. I sail alone 95% of the time. This website says I can get a snuffer/sock , or, for half the price, a "chute scoop". The latter sounds attractive price-wise, but I don't exactly know how it works. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks , Chris Fleming

snuffer

I too have an asymetrical as well as a conventional. I sent my snuffer back as I found out that I had to be forward to deploy it. I sail alone frequently and have no trouble taking down either chute. If the wind picks up I don't "push-it" unless there are others on board.
