My boat is in the water all year long and connect to AC, but I still use solar for my house bank. A 50watt panel from Renogy purchased from Amazon got me going. I had to replace the controller but for the most part, the panel has not failed me. Keeps me topped up as I like it. The starter batteries are on the AC changer. Never connected the house back up to the AC charger after I got the panel.
