I respectfully disagree with some of the member's comments regarding the guy who posted his B-23 for sale.  People who are in the market for a boat sometimes join a discussion group in order to get opinions about a boat model and learn what kind of issues they might face.  This guy was also offering an alternative mast-raising system (although I was never able to find the documents).  For those folks it is a convinience and a service to also receive information on the sale of boats they are interested in.  It is also a convinience and service for the person selling as they presumably been a faithful subscriber.  I myself am considering moving up to a different kind of sailboat.  I joined 3 discussion groups and as a result I am in communication with a guy selling his boat in the spring.  So I've got first shot at it.  I agree that commercial dealers should be banned.  The other issue is that there is a degree of trust and confidence in purchasing from a member of this group, because they are by definition boat-owners who are commited to maintaining and improving their Bayfields.  That's my opinion.  Thanks.
