I want to install adjustable fairleads for general trimming of the jib, including trim when furling using the autofurler. Does anyone know where to best locate the track (front end relative to chainplate & cabin, and track length, angle to cabin) to give the most useful trim range under normal circumstances and use. I have seen posts regarding placement for a Genoa, but I have no plans for one at present. I assume my jib is 100-110%.

Thanks for any help

I don't have a fair lead for my jib (100%), just for the gennie (150%), but in locating that I tried to make sure that it covered all the lead locations I was likely to want (I used 3ft. lengths on each side). With respect to your jib, I would assume the designers had a good reason for the original fair lead location and center my track on that point, possibly angling inboard to provide tighter trim angles. You might talk with a local sail maker to see if its worth while before you spend too much money.
