I'm about to embark on a restoration of a Yamaha 33'. There are a few patches of teak veneer in the interior that have rotted away, and I was wondering if anyone would have some information about the adhesives that would have been routinely employed in the late 70s/early 80s on boat cabinetwork. The cabinetwork on the Yamaha is teak veneer on marine plywood, with teak trim.

They would have purchased marine plywood with either one or both outer skins teak. You can buy peel & stick veneer to "fix" it but it will probably be thicker. Be sure the ply underneath the bad teak is in good shape or you'll spend good $$ on a repair that won't last. In the 70's the main marine wood glue was a dark brown powder mixed with water the name escapes me right now. Today I would probably use titebond or gorilla glue
