I read the instuctions on my new ports...
Hey, I just replaced all my ports on my 1982 Hunter 33 and the instructions said to use the same caulk as used on the install, there are many approaches there so I will not suggest what I used, it is prob. not what your windows are installed with. So, if you are reattaching the old trims... call Hunter, they can suggest the right caulk, if you just replaced old ports with new ones then use the same caulk. The one thing I would not suggest, is screws, don't fall to the temptation of screwing into the cabin side, just another place to start leaks. Good luck.
