Additional water tanks?

Hello all,

I am new to hunter sailboats and have not yet bought my first although I have shopped quite a few.

Has anyone attempted to install additional water tanks in a Hunter? If so I would be very interested in how you went about it and if it was successful.

Hunter uses the "web/rib" over the hull design. This presents lots of opportunities to add tankage. I have 4 tanks (OEM) 2 of them are in those spaces under the sole and between the web/rib members. I would take some fiberglass work to make the dado for the tank top but not a huge project. You want to be careful though, water is really heavy and it will no doubt effect your speed and if not balanced your hull trim.
