I was wondering if anybody has given any thought to adding an additional fuel tank to a Beneteau 361?

fuel tank

Charlie; I have a Bene 40 instead of a 36, but I've thought a lot about adding extra fuel tankage. My 40 gallons is not enough. I'd like to double that and have thought about fabricating tanks from plywood/epoxy to fit into the irregular shape at the top of both cockpit lockers then gravity feeding the fuel into the main tank as needed. I think it'll work. How about you, any ideas?

Additional fuel

Larry, I have been thinking along those same lines of building a box but using a flexible fuel tank on the inside. I have also been thinking of putting on the bottom of the locker rather than the top so I can still have maximum storage. I have a dealer contacting Beneteau to see what their "thoughts" are. My e-mail is oceanis361@aol.com if you come up with any more information Thanks Charlie

Charlie - I too am grappling with fuel capacity on my 361. I had given some thought to replacing the aft fresh water tank with a fuel tank and adding a water maker. I wonder if it might be possible to fabricate a larger tank where the existing one is located, perhaps straddling a portion of the shaft?
