Would like to add throttle controls from 98 Evenrude 9.9 to my H260 wheel/pedestal. I've seen pics of what others have done. Apparently you can order the lever(s) from Edson. How difficult is this? Not sure where to start.

Throttle control

George, The modification is really easy. Hunter will sell you the throttle and gear selector part for your pedestal-about $260.00. Your outboard should have the ability to be remotely controlled by cable. If you don't have thos parts, or don't know, check with Evinrude. Standard teleflex cables are all that's required for the cables. Installation is straightforward, but anaking the cables is a bit of a pain. Make sure that you add a steering linkage to your rudder. I haven't yet and have no steering control until the boat gets moving and water is moving past the rudder. You can e-mail me at zigracer@aol.com if I can be of any help. The other posts on this forum are good.

Hey Crazy Dave thought you went

underground! There has been a lot of topics that your input would have been very valuable. I know you have a life outside the forum. Glad to see you're back. Jonathan

Crazy Dave, regarding throttle controls on Pedestal. my e-mail is gkobernus@chartermi.net Any help you can give in this area is appreciated. Also planning a ST4000 installation. Should I wait to do both at the same time?
