adding keel to kayak

i have an old linear ployethylene kayak that does not track with a rip. i was thinking of adding a keel to the back half of the kayak to give it some tracking abilility.

since many on this site have experience in boat repairs, i was looking for some advice as to what materials would stick to ployethylene to construct a tracking keel.

I would mount a rudder on this kayak instead.

I have used kayaks with this retractable rudder setup and they really help with tracking.
