When I ordered my Hunter 33, I ordered the Spinnaker gear package, The package was included, but the spinnaker halyard wasn't rigged to the cockpit. Hunter included the blocks in a bag in the Nav Desk, and the dealer coiled the halyard up on the mast.

My questtion is how do you attach the blocks at the mast step. The slots are too narrow to feed the shackle through. Do you have to slide the chrome bar out of the step to install the shackles for the block?

My dealer has been some what less than responsive on this issue.

I believe that there is a small screw at one end that secures the bar. It is one bar that holds all the blocks. Make sure that you release the tension on the other blocks and it will slide out. I believe it slides forward. The rubber support boots are a bit of a pain when re-installing the bar. I have seen the existing block for the jib halyard installed in the slot for the spinnaker block.

I was at the boat last night. There is a screw and nut on the forward side and the aft side of the mast step plate. I would assume that the rod can be removed forward or aft. Moving it aft would open the first slot for the spinnaker block at the forward end and lessen the grief in dealing with the other blocks.

Good luck and I hope you are enjoying the boat.
