I have a 1989 Hunter 30 which I have owned since 1998. It has a four place organizer and four clutches on starboard. I want to add an organizer and clutches to port. Is there a mounting plate under the fiberglass or will I have to remove the headliner and add a plate to mount the hardware? Thank You, Kent Reynolds andiamo2@chartermi.net 231-264-8360

I did our 1993 H30T

I added a double clutch (Spinlock) on the port side. You can see the raised area on the port side. There is a metal material molded in the fiberglass. It almost looks like foil when you drill. Make sure not to drill to deep. You should drill and tap the holes and use stainless machine screws. You will also have to remove the deck that covers the deck orginizer and add a new one to the port side also. Again you will see the raised area. Drill and tap the same way. I ran my new spinnaker halyard that I added and the outhaul halyard. One other thing you have to do is add turning blocks at the base of your mast. I have a Z Spar mast and bought new blocks at www.rigrite.com. You'll need to know what mast you have. I'm not sure if Hunter used Z Spar in 1989. Hope this helps and good luck.

organizer/clutch

Thanks. I'm changing my topping lift from the side exit from the mast to an empty sheeve at the mast base. I'm also reconfiguring my main sheet from the cam cleat a series of blocks leading from the boom to the mast base and then to port side through the new organizer and clutch. Should be safer and more convenient. Thanks again
