adding a hatch to an older c-22

I would like to add a forward hatch to my 1976 C-22.I need some info (if anyone knows) on which hatch to use, where to get it, and if the procedure is difficult??Also does anyone know how thick the forward deck is?Is it thicker than 1"??Thanks,Mike

Catalina 22 Hatch

Check with Catalina Direct(www.catalinadirect.com). I have a 1973 Catalina with no hatch; I understand it was an option back then. They carry the hatch designed for our older curved decks. Good luck!

Fwd hatch

Hi Mike, Want to trade boats? Mine has the forward hatch and the former owner let water get in under the frame attached to the deck. Now I'm facing a big repair job. If you can stand the lack of airflow down below I would leave it alone.Good Luck, Jay
