Adding a freezer?

Hi Richard, And welcome to the site. I have a Norcold ac/dc refrigerator on my boat and would like to put a freezer in it at least to make ice if nothing else. Does anyone make an insertable freezer that can be added to the fridge? Thanks for your help. Gary Wyngarden S/V Wanderlust H37.5

Be prepared to run a generator when you're away from the dock. We get by with block ice, replaceable as we get to other marinas. Very little power problem with block ice.

Everyone can have a small freezer

If your refrigerator was built to be a refrigerator trying to put a freezer inside I think would be a mistake. There are a number of small AC/DC portable small refrigerators available that make ice or work as a freezer. I would look at the Engel units as small as 16 Qts. or as large 60 Qts. Be sure to look at only units with compressors and thermostats that can be set as low as zero degree F. freezer.
