I have seen two H34's on the Chesapeake Bay with bolt on swim platforms and wonder if anyone makes them for the H31 model. Mine is a 1985 model.

there's been a lot of talk about that add-on. check way back in the old archives. I'm sure there's a phone number in there.

Phil's right, but I have a question.

A long time ago there was a lot of discussion about a molded fiberglass addition that would create a swim platform. Someone had a mold, etc. But, I'm curious if you've seen wooden ones bolted to the transom. I wonder if a basic (dare I say) powerboat swim platform would work. I can understand that it wouldn't work in the North Atlantic or South Seas, but for basic bay sailing it seems to me that it would work fine. They also have the white molded ones out now, and I've been considering adding one - either a full one or a half one on one side. In white it would be barely noticeable. What did you see? Anyone else have thoughts?

Lenghtens waterline!

If this swim platform contacts the water it will lengthen your waterline which will make your boat faster. Might be a problem if you race.

Platform

I sailed down the ches. bay this summer and talked with one of the owners who had the platform on a 34. A couple of them hired a company to create the mold. Check the archives for the name and phone number for the company who created the mold. I am pretty sure I put the info on the post the last time. Good Luck
