Who will be the first of you to get this for the A-kite? Looks like a nice set up. Where is Santa when you need him! Sorry Bill but this looks a lot better than your homemade rig-but I'm sure it ain't cheap. I know some of you have been busy on the winter project-post some pics!

This month's "Sailing" magazine has a write up...

...on this, or a similar, product. Look in the "New Gear" section. Carbon fiber pole makes it pretty pricey. Not sure but they start around $2,200 and go up. Fixed and retractable models.

Forespar's Attempt

I think this is the second version I've seen Forespar produce; they had one online last year with a slightly different design. Now who'll be the first to say it looks home made?

Try this...

Here’s an easy-to-make bowsprit, seats in the anchor locker. This will throw the spin ahead of the main, less blanketing. Tack line and 2 sheets permanently deployed for quick setup. (Note that the link here has 2 pages of pix and directions.) Typo correction: Eyelet should be 3/8 inch. Hey, $50 tops.

I think I saw that in "Road Warrior"

Sorry, but that looks like something you impale other boats with. That's how we beat the Brits with our schooners back in GW's day. They used the sword and we used cannons. Ray

While at the Cleveland Boat Show

I saw this new boat on display there and the tube, "Sprit" was retractable. Good idea I thought. You can see just a hint if the Sprit on the Harbor 25's starboard bow in the pix hanging in the marine lift and the following pix too.
