I was in the Marine Corpse Air Wing back in the day, we had a board painted on a table in our break room - I even repainted it once because it got worn down. I must have played a 1000 hours myself.

Until I found the above link I thought it was just a thing we did there at the squadron. I know there's a lot of ex-Navy/Marine here - anyone play acey-deucey in the service?

Hi. I was checking out the old posts and saw yours. I started Navy flight training in '75 and Acey-deucey was popular in all the squadrons. There was a never ending tournament when you were on deployment in the ready room as well as several of the maintenance shops. When my squadron decommissioned in '93, I got the board and the box used for "throwing" the dice. I still have them. Guess it has gone the way of the dinosaur with the coming of video games.

Ha. Good stuff. I would bet that board is still painted on that same old table in the back of the RO's shop to this day - I could not imagine it any other way.

And the box - yep - drop the die in the top and they come out into the tray - and you've got the box - I'm jealous.

I served from 76 to 80, RO/Loadmaster on the KC-130s - Spend a lot of time doing aerial refueling at all 3 VMGR squadrons - Cherry Point, El Toro and Okinawa.

I would sit in the back and record hit/miss stats for the pilots coming in for fuel - what a show that was. Maybe I saw you a time or to. Small world.

I was at El Toro the same time as you. I was an avionics tech in VMFP-3. We didn't play acey-deucey, but we played a lot of poker aboard the Midway.
