Will acetone act as a dewaxer for fiberglass?

Yes but care is needed not to get on anything plastic and change your wiping rags frequently. Use latex gloves as well and use in well ventilated area.

Thank you! I have used acetone often, have everything for precautions. Mask, gloves, etc.

Having acetone, I was curious. If I didn't have to buy anything new, then I didn't want to.

Thanks.

I though I had heard that alcohol would do a better job than acetone. I could be wrong…

Acetone is THE way to go- DO change rags often. Acetone BTW is one of the mildest solvents out there, danger-wise.....xylol is MUCH worse. The acetone just smells like your brain will explode.
