Accessing the fresh water pump

Does anyone have any suggestions about getting to the fresh water pump on an Oday 28? Mine is in the locker under the sink in the head area. Do you have to dismantle the sink to get to it? Seems there should be an easier way than that.Joe

JOE. In my 28 85 the fresh water pump is under the sink on the right side. I bought a new pump a few years ago. I bought a Shoreflo pump at west marine then it was about $135. its simple connect the two wires 12 V which goes to the circuit breaker, connect the incomming water line . to the pump to the strainer which is part of the pump the outgoing side to the water line Put the circuit breaker on and check for leaks the pump will continue to run until it builds up the pressure and should shut off, Just a note donot used wire nuts to connect the 12 V use the but connectors marine grade Good Luck ,its simple fRED Pierce

Thanks for the reply, Fred. My pump is located in the exact same place as yours is. I was just concerned with getting the old pump out. There doesn't seem to be enough room to manouever around to get to the pump. I am thinking I will have to take the sink our or perhaps the cabinet under the sink. That's the problem I have. Did you have any trouble getting the old pump out? How did you do it?Joe
