I am replacing my wire harness for my outboard and I'm moving the starter switch and tach from the pedestal to the aft starboard lazertte area. Anyway, I planned to route the harness into the battery area via the center storage area under the helm seat (where gas is). The two options I see are to use one of two existing holes that have been poked thru the most aft section (on the horizontal edge that sticks up a few inces from the pan) or drill a new hole higher up on the starboard side of the pan. So far I lean to using an existing hole even though I don't like the location. It appears that the previous owner drill these, ran the wires thru and then chaulked around the wires - I will do the same - planning to use 3M 4200 around the harness as well as around the gauge/starter switch. Any thoughts, suggestions, or alternative routing is appreciated!!! Fair winds.
