Access Swim Ladder Bolts In Boat w/ Propane Locker

I am still trying to find out why my starboard transom locker gets filled with fresh water after a rain. It is even worse in the winter when the boat is dry docked. You guys have been great with your answers about checking the bolts on the swim ladder but no one has responded with how you access these ladder bolts if your boat has a propane locker. Apparently it is really easy do do when that both lockers are open to each other. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am ready to get this problem taken care of once and for all.

Same Problem

Apparently, there are a few threads in the archives that might help. I have the same problem with my 29.5, and I'm still not exactly sure that it has to do with the swim ladder. I get A LOT of water after a rain storm, and it just seems that the swim ladder can't be the only point of entry for water. As far as access, I can't get to the bolts from the propane lazerette, however, I can get to at least three of the bolts from the other side. I am in the water now, so next time I'm on the boat I will try to experiment with the hose to find a point of entry (think it has something to do with the trangular piece of the cockpit sole that covers the shaft/steering assembly). Maybe I should just install a bilge pump...

I have same problem. I put a small amount of CreepingCrack Cure on the bolts of the ladder and this stops water egresss for a full season.I have yet to find a permanent solution but believe me this is the cause of all the water and this solution works.

I've always had the stuff on board to fix minor cracks and chips. I just bought it at my marina, but, I'm sure Sailnet, Boat US, West etc. have it also...
