finished installation of my ac unit. very happy, works well, looks good, minimum loss of space, good flow.
1. marine air 16000 reverse cycle
2. primary unit in new nav. station. rebuilt cabinet, with shelf. shoe locker underneath, drain to shower sump.
3. trough hull under head sink, strainer, and pump under shower stall (have to cut out) replaced with teak trim , keep simple hardware for easy removal.
4. bleeder in cabinet with unit.
5. discharge thru hull within cabinet. Cut within water line strip as is head sink discharge. Looks good, close flow to reduce pump from working too hard.
6. custom plenum box with tree discharges forward and one aft. Divider in the middle to divert air flow better.
7. aft duct runs under shower stall, through sink cabinet, dry locker and into aft cabin. White trim duck.
8. forward ducts, 3 of them, run behind starboard settee, one discharges in the aft storage cabinet, and another side by side in the forward storage cabinet. Then continues through v berth locker. Must relocate starboard stereo speaker. Cutting through bulk head is tough.
9. thermostat runs along breaker board and mounted on the shower bulkhead in the main salon.

If anyone is interested please email bracesbraces@comcast.net and I will try to post pics

Best of luck

Would love to see pics of modifications under nav station, seems best place w/most room. Explain more about thru hull for water intake, and what had to go under shower stall?

ac intake is in the head. find the discharg thru-hull for the head sink straight down as far as it will go. it is below the water line in the top third of the hull cavity. move forward and the bulkhead is right there the shower stall. a hole is already cut for waterlines to the shower head. we cut a rectangular access pannel under the shower stall and mounted the strainer and pump side by side. remember to make this acces easy though, in case you need to adjust or inspect. i will post pics soon.
