What's the difference, or is there? I am suspecting the breaker mounted near my AC shore power inlet is bad (Ohm meter fluctuates)and I want to replace it with another 30 amp breaker. In the various catalogs I see some breakers rated AC/DC,others just DC or AC. Isn't 30 amps 30 amps?

Amps...

Yes Dean...They are, till you open the circuit. AC does it with a minimun of fuss (arching). DC try to stay connected through a nice spark. AC breaker can and are slower to open than DC. If you want more on the subject, let me know... Aldo S/V Isabel Alozano@monmouth.com
