AC condensation drain line

I really don't like the idea that the factory installed AC condensation drains into the bilge as I use the AC frequently making it is impossible to keep the bilge dry without manual bailing. I am considering plumbing the drain line into the galley sink drain hose just above the throughhull. It looks like a downhill run from the AC condensation pan to the top of the throughhull. Has anyone done this or have any thoughts? Thanks w

a/c drain

I don't see where this would be a problem, however be sure to use a good guality hose and double clamp the connection as you are now below the water line, I believe this is why they plumb the hose into the bilge. How do you keep the bilge dry doesn't the ice box and shower drain into it on the 320?Good luck let us know haow you make out!

Alternative

Mermaid Marine sells a device that returns the ac condensation to the cooling water line thus eliminating your problem of water in the bilge.

Drains !

On our 450, I took all lines to a shower sump, thus having the water pumped overboard.

Pete - Sam

Sam, i'll look into that sounds like a better idea, thanks. And Pete, yes the shower dumps into the bilge but we rarely shower...lol (we use the Lake). As for the refer I do not know where the condensation goes. I have had refer on since day one (so about 2 months now). It must go to the bilge. In fact, there is an irregular hole in the starboard side of the bilge (no hose is visible) - might this be the refer condensation line? I did locate the refer box drain hose in the aft bilge where the shower goes but haven't had need to drain the box itself.

Where to get Merrmaid part ??

Sam, I searched the net but could not find a part that sounded like what you recommended. Would you by any chance know where I could get it? Thanks
