Is the rebuild kit from Westerbeke the same as offered from Moyer Marine? Westerbeke is almost half the price. Has anyone used the kit from Westerbeke?

Related: before you immerse carb body in any solvent, assure there are no plastic "runner" blocks: carbs typically have drilled runners to route liquid fuel around, and sometimes runners are intentionally plugged somewhere along their length, separating the length into shorter sections - especially in two & four barrel models to separate the sides.
I rebuilt a 1970's factory carb, dunking it in my most reliable tub to soak, only to later learn my solvent has dissolved all those internal plugs, ruining the carb.
Check to assure what carb cleaners are approved by mfg.

you might try looking for just the carb rebuild kit on the net..... i think it's a zenith updraft carb and they were used on a lot of old flat head 4 cylinder engines...take the carb and look for a number on it that identifies the carb and do a search for that particular carb kit ...i am amazed that westerbeke is cheaper than anyone else.....there are carb kits out there for lots of 4 cyl engines that are not so high ...and when you rebuild it make darn sure you put the spark arrestor back on....sometimes the butterfly shaft is worn to a point where it needs to be replaced and if so you may have to get correct size bushings installed in the carb so it will be solid again (this helps the idling of the engine so its not erratic)

So it's a Zenith 68 7/8" according to manual and part number on carb pulls up tons of Zenith 68 info. eBay cheap but slow delivery. I will call ASE Supply and local farm supply.
Price a new or commercially rebuild replacement carburetor just to compare and determine if it is worth doing it yourself. I'm one to repair carburetors myself but also have to admit that sometimes finding parts and thoroughly getting passages cleaned are beyond my means and patience.
