Is there a way to spray in or otherwise seal a leaking aluminum holding tank ? The tank is currently disconnected and the head runs to a bladder. The tank is small (12gal) and I'm pretty sure that the reason it is not in use is that it leaked. The shower seat would have to be cut out to remove and replace the tank.

Start cutting

Do you really want to chance a quick fix? Do the repair right. A leaky head tank is a big time problem.

Don't repair...replace with a plastic tank

The average lifespan of any metal waste tank is only about 10 years...and the first leak is only the FIRST leak, so repairing it isn't worth the effort. A good quality plastic tank, otoh, will last forever. So if you're gonna go to the effort to get to the tank, pull it out and replace it.

Try DeVoe Coating

I work with a man that used their products inside potable water tanks on railcars. They have epoxies that are made specifically for the inside of aluminum tanks. I spoke at length with one of their tech people and intend to line the inside of my aluminum water tanks with their product. I don't have the specific product number with me, but if you call their tech department, they will lead you in the right direction. try 888-424-2847
