A Venture 25 with only two dead lights or ports?

There is a 1972 "McGregor 25" on ebay that has only two port lights. I have never seen a Venture 25 that did not have four port lights. I asked the guy if in fact it was a Venture 24. He replied that it is 24.75ft in length and I was being technical. I think he has one of those rare 24's. What is your take on this?

I think

the easy way to tell was the 24 had a single window on each side, while the 25 had two on a side. someone else might correct me on that, but I think that is the easy way to tell!

Look in "Boat Information" on this site

Check out the Mac 24 specs in the "Boat Information tab on this site and you'll see that a 24 has an overall length of 24'7'' Sounds like he's trying to pass off a 24 as a 25.

when did "25's" real 25's start ?

When did 'REAL" 25's get produced ? I have a 1974,,,was this not the first year of production ?

The Mac Venture 25 was built in 1973 and the first year they came out was 1974. I also have a 1974 and have researched it extensively. There are no 1972s

i have a 24

i have a 24, i am told it is a 1977 model. it has one window on each side. the guy i bought it from tried to pass it off as a 26!!! thanks to this website i was able to straighten him out and get a better price...i'm happy!
