While I get where I want to go at a pretty good speed, I will be the first to admit that the subtleties of sail trim are not my strength. But I was surprised while reading an article in Sail magazine over breakfast on proper use of the traveler. The article describes proper traveler trim strictly in terms of wind strength and makes no mention at all of point of sail. I would have thought that whether you are close hauled or running down wind would have some impact on traveler placement. Have I been sailing in ignorance all these years?Gary WyngardenS/V Shibumi H335
