Switched out my two blade for a three blade on my 320 (2001) What a difference it makes. Less vibration, increased speed, better grip. Best money I've ever spent. Only about $350. Next year new paint (VC-17 instead of the standard new boat stuff) and watch out!! Sail on!

Couldn't agree with you more ...............

....... we also upgraded to a three bladed prop at the beginning of the season on our 1999 H310. The difference was remarkable to say the least ........ the vibration was almost eliminated. Notice that we can now stop quickly when coming into the slip and for some odd reason prop walk has been greatly reduced whereas most people find the prop walk increases. If there is increased drag with the extra blade, it's too small to be noticable. Best money I've spent in quite some time. Regards, s/v Island Hunter

Question for Ralph

We also have a 310 and wanted to know what size 3 blade did you use

Agree on 3 Blade

This past weekend was the first time I went out with my new 3 blade. After two days I agree, less vibration, more power at low RPM and a lot less prop walk. I think less prop walk is do to the less severe pitch of the blades than you have with a two blade. This was definitely worth every penny.

What is "prop walk'

I posted above regarding my concern about vibration under power, and in reading this post it appears that by switching to a three blade prop i could maybe reduce it. But you folks are talking about "prop walk" and I have no idea what you are referring to. What does that term mean?

Prop walk

Prop walk occurs when the boat is first put in reverse and the boat steers to either port or starboard depending whether or not you have a right or left handed propeller. This continues until the boat has enough momentum for the rudder to overcome the props tendency to steer. I have read posts here by someone who states there is more prop walk with a 3 blade prop. That has never been my experience.

Randy: I'll look it up when I get home and report back to you. Wow, I was just in Orange Beach, AL in Feb. My father in-law winters down there. Pretty cool area!!

3-blade = no vibration

I ordered my 356 with a three balde prop from the get-go. It does not vibrate at any speed, however I do not to hull speed until turning over 3000 rpm. Is this expected? Ivan
