There are probably as many "recommended" ways as there are owners.
A sprit would help to get the tack forward of the bow pulpit which would be ideal, bit then there is the matter of cost.
My 323 has a padeye on the deck near the bow. I attach a block there and another to a hole in the anchor roller bracket . That helps to get the tack forward of the forestay.
I attach the tack line to the sail outside the bow pulpit. The line is run through the blocks. I believe the factory intended the tack line to be secured th one of the bow cleats. Finding that somewhat inconvenient, I elected to run a longer tack line back to a Spinlock on the cabin top.
I run the sheets outside of the forestay and the bow pulpit and back through the blocks on the stern padeyes, then to the sheet winches. I do have a sleeve which really makes launching and recovery fairly painless.
