A Sad Day

[Pakele]

My 25MKII Pakele is for sale... The boat has been the brightest part of my life for most of the last 4 and half years I've owned her. We saw so much of the and I learned most of what I know about sailing aboard her and learned about boat systems and how to improve them.
The next boat is a Islander Freeport 36, which we intend to live aboard. The Yamaha steered me this way.
I want to thank all of you who have shared your knowledge and assistance over the years. I always felt, thanks to this forum, that there was someone to turn to for help and you never failed me.
Enjoy your boats... they are incredible!

Moving on.... No regrets

Pakele, It's testament to your "boating" experience's on your Y25 that it was a positive one that lead you to emerse yourself into a boating liveaboard life style. A lesser boat may not have been so positive and led you to "move on" instead of "moving up"!

Think of selling Pakele as giving another sailor the opportunity to embrace the lifestyle and discover the same joys she gave you.
I recently sold my first sailboat (17' Thistle) to a One Design restorer knowing the boat will live on within the racing class, as it should be. I also campaigned on a 1926 "R" boat. It recently was totally restored. and shall live on long past my years. way cool .

You are a class act! You have supported what I have done with Pakele from the beginning and always did your best to answer my rookie questions. I will definitely stop by and say hi from time to time.
A long time ago you offered me a sail aboard Syntonos out of Long Beach, I still may hold you to that!

Not sad, happy!

I went from a mac 25 to my CM32 aft cabin ketch. You will enjoy the larger size. I have never looked back.

Something magical about being a third larger, making you ten times happier.

You forget those few extra feet, cost double to do anything on, like bottom paint, and other maintenance, storage and repairs, not to mention insurance. The smaller boat is already part of many homeowners insurance policies. The bigger boat is not so lucky.

It is only money.
