Does anyone know of a reputable surveyor in Southern California? I need a very thorough survey of my Ericson 27, as I am trying to make a decision on what could turn into big plans with this boat. The boat is in LA, I'm in the marshall islands. It is probably obvious what I am considering, but I want an expert opinion before I start upgrading everything. Any thoughts, or a business card? In the Channel Islands Harbor is Marine Surveyors, next to the Anacapa boat yard where I've been hauled out twice and been very happy with the work and the survey. Could not have been more exact. I know another recommended by others is Mike Peizel. Have not had a direct experience with him but you can contact him through Channel Islands Yacht brokerage. Burt, will give you the info.

Dan Ryan. ryan.marine@verizon.net 310/302-8977 Dan did the survey on my V32 when it was sold. He is careful and knowledgeable, if a tad picky. I'd certainly use him. (He recently finished restoring to a pristine standard a Kettenburg 40.)
