Here is a little brain teaser for all you navagitors out there. This is not a trick question, but is tricky. Which of the 50 states are by geographical location, the farthest north, south, east and west. Think before you answer.

North, East, West = Alaska South = Hawaii Hint: Check the 180th Meridian to see where it passes thru.

Explanation

Paul's point about the Merdian is that Alaska is the farthest east because it crosses the International Dateline (way out in the Berring Straits). The beauty of this quiz is best exercised on one's loudmouth brother-in-law whose only A in junior high was geography... and gets this wrong.

Paul, your right on the mark. The meridian passes through the tip of the Aleutians, making Alaska the farthest North, East and West. It is very rare that anyone gets this right, and it is a really good question for a smart ass brother in law.
