A no Pop-Top

I am refurbishing a recently aquired Hunter 25.5. I tried but can't open the Pop-Top. Pushing it with all my strength it lift up 2 inches or so and it comes to adead stop. Is there a trick to open it? I had a Pearson 23 with a Pop-Top and that lifted effotlesly. Please help! Thanks.

Check to see if it is screwed down somehow. I have the same boat and while it is not what I would call easy I can lift the top by my self, as it lifts it swings aft and connects to the mast.You have to lift the top in a level manner, if you lift only one side (front or back) it will bind and stop lifting, this may be you problem.
