Not sure this is the right place for this but virtually everyone orders stuff on-line these days. I ordered a small mod kit for my CL257 clutch from duckworks boat builders supply [ http://duckworksbbs.com ] The kit is $5.00 but the shipping calculated by the duckworks website was $7.68. I've found this situation before when ordering small items. The day after I ordered the item I got an email from Sandra at duckworks customer service telling me the standard shipping was express mail but I could save $5.00 if I could wait for the item via 1st class mail. I guess my point is that duckworks now has a loyal customer because they took the initiative and time to save me a few bucks without me asking. This is a vendor with a limited catalog but worth a first look when shopping for hard-to-find items.

Online ordering

According to AARP it is safer to order online than by mail.

Ordered some portlight gaskets & a tube of

winch grease (just to get the most out of the shipping charges) from CD last week, they called within an hour to tell me the gaskets were backordered & did I want them to send the grease right away for no extra charge. I told them no hurry, just send both when the gaskets come in, both items arrived yesterday. Great customer service in this day and age.

Customer Service still counts

Looks like a good place, I've book marked them. I always appreciate it if a vendor calls or (better yet) emails to clarify an order. Sailboatowners.com is one of those, too. :)
