Yes, it's a Westsail (first post) and no- no shore power. Diesel heaters. She said she appreciates the ideas

Here's the deal- Grandparents old house and dock. He is away for several weeks down here, attending to his Father in hospital with terminal brain tumor. She'll be away for Christmas, then attending an Emergency first responder training class, so the boat will be unattended for several weeks. But I think it's all figured out And thanks

but then, it doesnt matter what brand, type, size or color the boat
What. Always thought color was important. White if you want it cool and dark colors if you want it warm.

I'm sorry, but this is confusing to me. We have a 2-way valve mounted at the raw water intake. when winterizing, I mount a hose to the top of the valve. Rotating the valve closes the intake and opens the hose to suck antifreeze into the filter/hoses/pump/HX, etc.. When the exhaust spits out pink stuff we're done. Any water below the ball valve can freeze or not - won't matter - or will it???

I do the same thing, with the thought that the water down at the thru-hull does not get freezing for long- if at all. You might monitor the water temperature from whatever/wherever the nearest indicator is.
